Today is a really special day for me.
Five years ago I wanted to start my own thing, but I was terrified of what other people would think of me:
“This social media thing feels silly, but I know I need to do it.”
“What will my friends say about me?”
“What if I fail?”
There is one man responsible for getting me past these fears.
That man is Gary Vaynerchuk.
Like for many of you, Gary was my inspiration.
He got me to start posting online — and his mantra of "give give give" truly changed my life for the better.
It’s a beautiful, full-circle moment for me to get to tell you that as of today, Gary is officially joining Stan as an investor.
Why This is Such An Important Moment for Stan
It’s a surreal feeling getting to work with one of your role models at this level.
Not many people know this, but 4 years ago, I made a series called “Day X of Getting GaryVee to Invest in My Startup”.
Gary never saw it — but God does it make me choke up watching those old videos.
Back then, I was just this kid working his a** off — I had nothing but a phone and sheer persistence — desperately hustling to make something happen.
It was deeply painful, but I kept going.
I think that’s why this moment is so beautiful though:
My hope is that this announcement can serve as proof to you that if you just believe in yourself — and persist an unreasonable amount — your dreams will come true.
Because this is exactly what Stan stands for — a deep belief in the human spirit.
That the American Dream still exists.
That if you work hard, be a good person, and never give up — you WILL succeed.
The Broader Stan Thesis
You’ll notice the same pattern in all of our Stories here at Stan:

I came from nothing.
